Persistence requires Mac OS X Leopard 10.5 or later and an Intel or PowerPC based Macintosh.
If you intend to use Persistence to backup your data online, then you will need access to a server machine on the Internet that is compatible with one of the many file transfer protocols supported by Persistence. If you have a hosted web site, be aware that you might not be allowed to store personal backup data on the servers - make sure to check your provider's service agreement (not all allow using their servers for personal backups while some others strictly limit the amount of backup data allowed).
