Getting Help

If you have questions about Persistence or need assistance using it, please do the following:
  • Make sure you have downloaded and installed the very latest version - see the download links on the right side of this page,
  • Check out the tutorials area in case there's already one that answers your questions,
  • Head over to the users forums and ask your question there (no registration needed for browsing, but free registration required for posting in order to deter spammers),

If you want to manage your Persistence Web subscription or review the transaction history, simply visit the Persistence Web billing page at Amazon Payments. If you have questions regarding Persistence Web billing, send an email to application-payments@amazon.com.

Retrieving Information

If you have experienced issues with Persistence, in order to get the best possible help, it's important that you gather as much information as possible:
  • What is your computer's configuration: model, OS version...
  • What type of destination are you backing up to: FTP server, external disk...
  • Should you be experiencing crashes, retrieve the Persistence crash logs from the "Library/Logs/CrashReporter" inside your home directory
A key source of information is the Reports pane in the Persistence main window. It provides extensive details about every operation performed on a given backup:



You can copy-paste from the errors list as well as the log area beneath it (make it visible by dragging the separator at the very bottom of the window). Before sending this information however, make sure to review it and strip anything you might consider confidential.

Customized version

The very powerful Persistence backup engine is available for licensing if you need to develop custom backup solutions around it.

If you own an online storage or Internet web hosting company, consider setting up a partnership to get a customized version of Persistence to provide to your customers. This can increase your customer base and allow you to sell more services!
